For people who are interested in Careers within the performing arts – you should know that you don’t necessarily need to be the best actor, or the finest singer, or the best looking person, in order to make a New career for yourself within performing arts – there are loads of New careers out there for people, operating in the background, keeping things operating smoothly, making sure that nothing messes up, and if it does go wrong, making sure they’re on hand to fix things. There are lots of New careers available that involve designing stages and sets for concerts for either bands, or singers, or even stages for shows. All Careers within the performing arts industry generally involve late nights and long working hours, dictated by the fact that most shows are of course, on evenings when everyone else has finished work. The majority of openings are based within city centres, in central locations easily accessible by public transport. There are opportunities outside of city centres, but be ready to go for longer periods of time without any work.
The best way to get yourself a career within the performing arts trade is to attend classes at a performing arts college, and acquire A-levels and possibly even a degree in a connected subject. It’s not all about qualifications though, you need to be determined to be successful, and willing to go the extra mile all the time in order to achieve. Courses however will provide you with an extra competitive advantage over people who lack any qualifications, and as this is a highly competitive industry to get into, you will need all the advantages you can get.
