Government Grant Scheme To Assist Work At Home and On Line Work Opportunities
One North East currently provide a grant support package for businesses interested in developing a work from home strategy for their solutions are ideal for firms trying to maximise customer relations whilst providing flexible, cost efficient working conditions that can utilisea diverse workforce. Many firms are looking to a Work from home approach to minimise costs whilst improving productivity and staff retention, reducing environmental effects, and for lots of firms, addressing the usually negative customer reaction to offshoring. Public attitude to foreign sourced call centre operations has been very negative during a time of rising unemployment, there has been a groundswell of opinion that these tasks should be kept in the UK and firms view home working as an ideal alternative.
The fund is currently being operated as a pilot scheme in the North East of England and extends to a total of £1.1 million. The scheme is available to any qualifying business in the area and provides grant aid up to a maximum of £3,000 per full time employee adopting a work from home basis. The assist with staff development and training, up to a maximum of £ 2,000 and an additional up to £1,000 for capital items which is intended to include computer equipment, computer software and telephone equipment. This means the support will be ideal for Online Jobs, operations or customer support and help lines. The extent of the fund will permit help for the creation of 360 new jobs in the area and will be available until September 2011. Funds are provided through Solutions for Business, which is a government package of support products which is publicly funded and established to help companies start and expand.
